Nick Robertshaw

Nick qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and has specialised in Family Law since that date. He joined Bowsers Solicitors in 2026 and his Head of Department is Akhil Choudhury. 

Nick is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in complex high-value financial divorce cases. He is therefore able to assist clients with complex financial cases i.e. those involving business, farms, trusts, public sector pensions etc. 

He is also a Collaborative Lawyer, having completed the Resolution Collaborative Lawyer training. This means that Nick is able to help couples who want to work together on separation to avoid going to Court, allowing them to retain control and autonomy of the process.  

Over the years Nick has acted in a wide variety of Family Law matters, including divorces, financial cases and child custody disputes. During this time he has acted on behalf of a wide range of individuals, including business owners, farmers and senior members of the Armed Forces. 

From experience, Nick finds that taking a conciliatory approach to family disputes is the best approach as this generally leads to better outcomes for families, at a lower cost and in a quicker time. He therefore advocates a negotiated approach where possible. However, where this is not suitable, Nick has extensive experience of taking cases through the Courts, including the High Court. 

Outside work Nick enjoys running, mountain biking and skiing, as well as spending time with his family.
